          All Fall 2020 Entrance Scholarship, Award and Bursary applications are now closed.

          Entrance Scholarship selection has concluded and all recipients have been notified.

          Entrance Award and Bursary recipients will be notified in July 2020.

          International Citizens studying at SFU also have access to other financial opportunities such as SFU Bursaries and the SFU Work-Study program. Employment options are also available; to find out more, visit International Services for Students.

          The University assumes that students will arrange their own funding to meet immigration requirements for the issuance and/or renewal of student authorizations and visas. An offer of admission to SFU is not an offer of financial support. Bursaries administered by SFU, awarded on the basis of financial need, are provided as supplemental funding and cannot be used for the core funding required to meet immigration requirements.

          Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships - Application Required

          Application Status:  Closed

          SFU recognizes high school students who demonstrate excellence in both their academic and extracurricular activities.  The value of a scholarship may range from $10,000 up to an amount sufficient to cover all tuition and mandatory supplementary fees normally required for the completion of a student’s first undergraduate degree at SFU. 

          Scholarships are available to domestic and international high school students admitted for the fall term to an undergraduate degree in any faculty. 

          Application Period for Fall 2020: October 1, 2019 - December 15, 2019
          Supporting Documents* Deadline: January 31, 2020
          Minimum Requirement: grades in the 90% range or a minimum 31 International Baccalaureate points**
          Scholarship Value: ranges from $10,000 up to an amount sufficient to cover tuition and mandatory supplementary fees

          Further funding, in the form of a living allowance, may be offered to support exceptionally talented students with demonstrated financial need.

          Recipients will be notified from mid-March to mid-May 2020.

          *This includes an academic reference, a community involvement reference, and all admission items on the To Do List
          **Predicted bonus points are not considered in the calculation

          H.Y. Louie and Lohn Entrance Award

          • Value: $5,000 (1 installment)
          • Number: 18

          Supporting Documents Required:

          • One (1) completed Community Reference Form
          • A summary of your achievements and activities demonstrating your involvement:
            provide clear, concise details about your volunteer work, school or community involvement, extracurricular activities, and artistic or athletic interests (500 words max)

          • Awarded to the top applicant admitted directly to the Beedie School of Business

          The Jim Bennett Entrance Scholarship (application required)
